Melbourne comedian Justine Sless is a long time fest favourite, returning with a woman of wit from Apollo Bay, poet Annabel Tellis, to make you laugh with funny stories and verse. Event is hosted by Adrian Masterman-Smith and Lowen Clarke at pop-up venue Maple Tree House. Catered Tapas by Belinda Fabry included in ticket price, and Taltarni Wines by the glass at bar prices.

Join in the fun, children’s book author Lowen Clarke and illustrator Adrian Masterman-Smith are hosting a party to celebrate the story of Sam the Tram! Fun, treats, dancing, street parade and activities all included in this event for kids and all ages. Choreographed entertainment by Maryborough Gymnastics Teacher Maree Elliott. Welcome to the 2017 Words in Winter Central Goldfields Victoria website and blog for all the events and latest updates on this coming festival season. This year the theme is “Origins” and runs from Friday 4th – Sunday 20th August. For the first time, Maryborough, Dunolly and Carisbrook will be joined by Pyrenees town Avoca, with an event or two to inspire in the wonderful new Avoca Arts and Gardens Precinct/Gallery 127 at the newly rescued Avoca Railway Station complex. With more than a dozen events planned, this season promises inspiration in the cold weather with cosy fireside evenings for all ages, exhibitions, performances, readings, and much more to warm up this winter.
