Great Workshop Session – Writing for Writers – Stacey McCoy – Avoca Arts Gallery 127

Fantastic session at Avoca Arts Gallery 127, run by regional self-published writer, Stacey McCoy, Writing for Writers.  There was no “down time” for participants, who were enthused by Stacey’s prompts, words of wisdom, and insights from her experience, keeping audience attention throughout.  Everyone learned a lot.  As a result, writing networks were identified as needing to grow to support the aspirations of many writers in the region.  Writers were able to discuss their works with each other, receiving support and feedback, vital for many who tend toward solo stints in front of the computer or page.  President of Avoca Arts Gallery 127 Committee, Hugh Forster, is keen to “grow” the writing side of the arts, so keep watching this site for updates.  Already a group of writers have set up a network on Facebook, Pyrenees Writers Platform at Avoca.  Feel free to apply to join this new group, run by the attendees from the workshop, as big things are planned for the future.  Thank you to Hugh, Stacey and all attendees who created such a lovely atmosphere for a creative and productive day.

Fantastic WIW 2018 – Thanks Everyone!

What a fantastic three weeks of arts, music, writing, writers, authors, poets and funny storytellers! Thanks to all who helped, bought tickets, provided support and much more.  Special thanks goes to RCC2018, Maryborough Advertiser, Big Cat Print, Carisbrook Mercury, The Welcome Record Dunolly, Maryborough Visitor Centre, Maryborough Library, Central Goldfields Art Gallery, Katescastle Book Emporium, Maple Tree House, Avoca Arts Gallery 127, and all the artists and performers.  Thanks to all other Words in Winter towns for linking us every year.  Congratulations to all authors who launched books during the three weeks.  Next year will be running from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 11th August, with a great line up and more on offer in Maryborough, Dunolly, Carisbrook and Avoca.  There are some value added events coming up for the year due to popularity, so keep following this site for details.  Happy Spring!
